They include the awesome Leo Bussi, who manages Waterwings Press. He led a successful writing workshop with some of the less confident writers. Phoebe Crawford, another of our writers, runs the awesome comedy night Gnash. She hosted a research session in Glasgow’s Mitchell Library Archive, where she works as a librarian.

Currently, us four artists are in the process of making visual interpretations inspired by the texts, in the mediums of ceramic, print, film and textiles. Already, this project has formed new connections and activated an inventive and critical community.

Our collaborative project is being led by four of our artist members, Lily Kremple, Liberty Ray, Rachel Marston and Natasha Thomas.

The title, Choreomania, originates from historical research surrounding a dancing plague in 16th century Strasbourg.

Feminist themes, interrogating mass hysteria, conformity and the revolutionary act of dancing form the foundation of a co-written script that will be transformed into a performance this winter. The stage will be set in our grassroots gallery space; The House Arts Collective, which we set up and run collaboratively.
