As a grassroots gallery & project space, The House Arts Collective, began in the winter of 2020. As the Covid 19 pandemic meant the doors to The Glasgow School of Art closed, the space grew out of a longing for community.

Jack Iredale and Ewelinka Dochan, felt a need to keep creative conversations moving, in the midst of isolation, forming a community space aimed at hosting artists & musicians, beyond the institution.

In July 2022, the Bell Street venue was tragically burnt down. In Febuary 2024, spearheaded by the first directors, Iredale and Dochan, our current venue was born in Napiersall Street. Thank you to Caroline Thompson, our solicitor, who helped us in the process.

In 2023, during The Glasgow School of Art Degree Show, The House Art Collective’s initial members created an archive of the projects they carried out during undergraduate. One of which was The Wall Publication, now stocked by Good Press.
